Come sing with us! A variety of vocal styles will be explored and performed in this new and exciting chorus! Students will learn healthy vocal technique, improve musicianship, and experience singing in a group setting. No experience necessary! Rehearsals start March 11, 2024 for students in grades 3-8.

CMS Kids Jazz Club: Beginning Band with Dr. Martin Weir
Designed for beginning players, this ensemble teaches first year players the basics of performing in a band! Students will work with faculty to learn basic music notation, aural skills, beginner performance techniques, and how to play in an ensemble setting.

CMS Kids Jazz Club with Ellen Pieroni
Designed for intermediate players with at least 1-2 years of playing experience, this ensemble teaches intermediate level musicians the basics of jazz! Students will work with faculty members in this hands-on setting, learning to read jazz sheet music, improvisation skills, jazz history & learn to play in an ensemble.

Designed for advanced players with 2+ years of playing experience, this ensemble continues what students have learned at the intermediate level to expand their jazz knowledge! Students will work with multiple CMS Faculty members in this hands-on setting, learning to read jazz sheet music, improvisation skills, jazz history & hone their ensemble playing skills.

Fiddle ’n Folk Ensemble with Phil Banaszak
Members learn to play folk music in a jam setting as they improvise, play by ear & have an all-around good time. Students may join any time during the session.

CMS Jazz Workshop with Carol McLaughlin & CMS Faculty
Open to musicians with at least 3+ years of playing experience. Students will participate in a small jazz ensemble, learn to read and understand jazz sheet music, and learn about the fundamentals of jazz. Students will also hone their improvisational skills & work with multiple CMS Faculty members in this hands-on setting.

CMS Community Chorus with Paul Waara
Love singing? Come sing with the CMS Community Chorus! The group sings a wide variety of music, including traditional choral music, gospel, pop, jazz, Broadway and more. Join our spring session which will feature a themed program titled “Hope and Joy”. A concert will be performed in May 2024. No audition required.
