Pianist Shirley Chan has been a member of the CMS Piano Department since 1984. Shirley earned a Bachelor’s degree in music, graduating summa cum laude from Buffalo State College under the study of Dr. Kenwyn Boldt. Shirley also received the BSC Presidential Metal for Academic Excellence. Upon graduation, she studied piano literature for another 11 years with Dr. Boldt at Buffalo State and with Frina Arschaanska at the University at Buffalo. For two years, she studied under David Andrews at the New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music, now known as the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She also received her diploma in Piano from the Associated Board of Music in England.
