Reese Holahan

Reese Holahan (tenor) is a performer, teacher, and scholar based in Buffalo, NY. Reese holds a Master of Music in Voice Pedagogy from Shenandoah Conservatory, and he is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia with degrees in Voice Performance (BM) and Communication Disorders & Sciences (BS).

Reese’s performing and teaching focuses include classical, musical theatre, folk, choral, and rock styles. His performance résumé includes credits with the Hillman Opera, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, SongFest, Shenandoah Conservatory Opera, Collaborative Piano Institute, and Charlottesville Opera. He currently performs as a staff singer in the Westminster Choir.

Reese is an aspiring vocologist and is passionate about understanding the science of the human voice. He conducts research and delivers presentations on topics including voice acoustics, anatomy and physiology, and articulation. He is professionally affiliated with the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Voice Foundation, and Pan-American Vocology Association (PAVA). He currently serves as Journal of Singing Intern with NATS.

Reese’s teaching philosophy centers on a goal-based approach supported by science-informed pedagogy. He believes in open collaboration between student and teacher to develop and meet students’ unique goals. He draws both from his experiences as a performer and teacher and his rich understanding of the voice to support his students’ growth.
