Nicholas Mark Czaplicki (voice faculty/program coordinator) is a Western New York native. He received a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education with a concentration in voice/choral music from SUNY Fredonia. Nick grew up with a love of music and has studied all genres of music. He has studied at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame’s Summer Teacher Institute in Cleveland, OH. Nick has performed in local productions of The Sorcerer (John Wellington Wells), HMS Pinafore (Captain Corcoran), Princess Ida (Arac), Patience (Duke of Dunstable), She Loves Me (Georg Nowack), The Music Man (Marcellus Washburn), The Pirates of Penzance (Sargeant of Police), The Mikado (Pooh-bah), Man With A Load of Mischief (Lord), Jericho’s Jams (Mr. Jericho), and Ruddigore (Sir Roderic). Other favorite credits include Godspell (Lamar), Into the Woods (Baker), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd), and Bye Bye, Birdie (Mr. MacAfee), The Old Maid and the Thief (Bob), The Magic Flute (Papageno), and L’elisir d’amore (Dulcamara).
What drew you to music?
I had great music teachers throughout elementary, middle, and high school that had a major impact on me. It was because of their passion and love for music education that I wanted to have a career in music.
What classes do you teach?
In addition to individual vocal lessons, I currently teach Music & Me: On My Own, Joy of Singing, Legends of Music, and direct the Children’s Choir.
What do you love about living in buffalo?
There’s a lot! I love the culture, the immense talent, the food (favorite local restaurant is Duff’s), and contrary to popular opinion, I love the changes in the seasons!
What hobbies do you enjoy outside of Community Music School?
My dog Zeek keeps me busy! I also love horror movies, video games (especially Super Mario), Lego, and all things Disney!!!
