Miah Sirianni

Miah Sirianni is from Western New York! She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a focus in choral conducting! During her time at Duquesne, Miah served as a vocal coach for other undergraduate music education students, focusing on early childhood pedagogy. Her education and college experiences centered around community learning, including serving as a choral conducting scholar for community ensembles in Pittsburgh, as well as assisting the Duquesne choirs. She currently sings as soprano section leader at St. Paul’s Cathedral, while teaching here at CMS! Miah’s teaching philosophy aligns with the missions of CMS, making music education an equitable experience for all learners. She is so grateful and excited to be a part of the team!

What drew you to music?

During COVID-19 I saw a video of a neighborhood in Italy singing Katy Perry’s “Firework” out of their windows. Although they were so far apart— music brought them together. That’s what draws me to music: the community and rapport it can create between people with so many differences.
