Jill Raisen-Buerk

Jill joined Community Music School’s voice faculty in 2014, but she has 40 years of private teaching experience to her credit. She has offered private instruction in piano and voice since 1971. Jill is an accomplished and respected performer, whose credits include performances with the Ars Nova Musicians Chamber Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Buffalo Opera United, Opera Buffs, the Lutheran Chorale, WBFO-FM Radio, WNED-TV and the Lancaster Opera House. She is a founding member and soprano soloist of Vergine Bella, an ensemble for the performance of medieval music. Jill has created various programs for Young Audiences of Western New York, including programs on the indigenous music of New York State, medieval music and images of women in traditional music. She has also taught and performed at Chautauqua Institution.She earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY Buffalo State and studied voice and opera at the Manhattan School of Music.
