CMS Kids Band & Jazz Club Policies

CMS is proud to offer our FREE Kids Band and Jazz Club! The program consists of four ensemble levels for students, which all meet on Monday afternoons. Students will be placed in one of the following ensembles:

4:15-5:00 p.m.: Intermediate Band with Dr. Martin Weir (students with 1-3 years of playing experience), Ages 8-15

4:15-5:00 p.m.: Kids Jazz (Intermediate) with Ellen Pieroni (students with 1-3 years of playing experience), Ages 8-15

5:00-5:45 p.m.: Beginning Band with Jennifer Tritto (beginning students), Ages 8-15

5:00-5:45 p.m. Kids Jazz (Advanced) with Carol McLaughlin (students with 3+ years of playing experience), Ages 10-17

Each student enrolled in the CMS Kids Jazz Club will receive a weekly individual lesson with one of our CMS Faculty members, along with a rental instrument (if needed) at no cost. Individual lessons will be scheduled with Director of Operations Paul Waara once the program begins for the school year, and the students select their instruments.

Attendance is critical to your child’s success and the overall success of the program. While we understand that things happen (illness, family events, etc.), we require that you communicate with us. Weekly lesson and ensemble attendance are monitored, and a student with excessive absences will be removed from the program. By checking this box, I agree.

Home practice is expected, and your child’s individual lesson teacher will discuss practice goals at their first lesson. Families should support and encourage home practice, and ensure your child is coming prepared for their lesson or ensemble with the necessary materials (i.e. neck straps, cleaning rags, reeds, books, music, etc.).
