Music Therapy – One-on-One Therapy

In a one-on-one therapy session, the music therapist meets individually with the client at Community Music School. Based on input from the client and any family or professional caregivers, the therapist designs an individualized therapy plan.

Because our sessions are tailored to each client’s needs, it’s hard to describe a “typical” music therapy session. Here are some of the activities that might take place:

  • Instrument playing and exploration
  • Singing
  • Listening to live or recorded music
  • Improvisation
  • Songwriting
  • Discussion of songs and lyrics
