Individuals with special needs or diagnoses may struggle with traditional music lessons. Adaptive lessons are meant to develop the client’s musical skills. The lessons are taught by a trained music therapist with the background to help the client learn. At Community Music School, adaptive lessons are available in piano, voice, guitar, drums, flute and violin.
It’s important to note that the adaptive lesson teacher will not address any treatment goals related to the client’s diagnosis. Rather, the teacher will help the client to develop musical skills despite the diagnosis.
